Bulevar Niza
Bulevar Niza is a quieter mall that houses some of our favorite places to shop and eat in Bogota. To get there, you can walk (takes about 20 minutes), take the bus (check out the directions here, as they are the same as traveling to the church), or a taxi. The address is Cra. 58 #127-29 and it is open daily from 10am-11pm. Here are some highlights of the mall:
Jumbo is a great grocery store with lots of options at low prices. It also has housewares and good prices on Colombian coffee and candy.
Pizza Gourmet is located on the first floor and is a favorite with Project Hope’s mission teams. Prices range between $25.000 – $35.000 pesos per pizza (about $10-13 US). The restaurant has plenty of seating space and great service.
Crepes and Waffles restaurants are located all throughout Bogota, and 2 locations are featured at Bulevar Niza. They serve meals, but they also have an ice cream section at each location. The ice cream is great and reasonably priced. There is one on the first floor by Pizza Gourmet and another on the 3rd floor in the food court. Crepes and Waffles is a highly successful restaurant chain that began in Colombia. The best part is that it has made a huge difference in the lives of thousands of families — 96% of their employees are women, and most of them are single parents caring for multiple children. You can check out the story of the restaurant here.
Bulevar Niza also has a movie theater (movies are in Spanish), arcade, and rides for kids. They often show soccer games on a big screen television in the center of the mall.
