Red Flags of Colombia

July 29, 2020

All over the world, people in poverty are experiencing the impact of the pandemic in a devastating way. In Colombia, many people who are considered “informal workers” are not able to work due to the restrictions in place. Domestic abuse and hunger have become even bigger problems.

Colombia’s government asked neighbors to look out for one another, and said that anyone in a desperate situation should hang a red flag from their window to signal their need for immediate help. Unfortunately, there are entire neighborhoods with red flags hanging from the windows. We pray for people all over the world that are in extremely vulnerable situations and need miraculous intervention. You can click here to learn more about the red flags in Colombia.

Thanks to some amazing donors, Project Hope was able to purchase and pass out bags of food to approximately 200 families with the red flag in their window.

Olga Rodriguez, Project Hope’s Colombia Coordinator, led a team of volunteers to plan, shop for, and deliver the food.

“It was a beautiful experience and we were happy to be a part of it.”

Olga Rodriguez
