Recently, one of Project Hope’s Community Center kids had the opportunity to visit the United States. Caren is 15 years old and has been a part of Project Hope’s ministry for over 7 years. Caren said, “The trip was a gift…it was something I didn’t expect and I was so happy.”
It was a week of new experiences for Caren. She got a passport, traveled outside of Colombia for the first time, and got to experience snow. She loved sledding and said she never wanted it to end.
One of the things we love most about Caren is her heart. She is kind and compassionate and loves to serve others. During her visit Caren enjoyed helping out with the upcoming auction by asking for donations from businesses.
She was also able to experience church with us, and she was amazed at how similar it was to her home church. She said, “At church I felt at home. Those people will always be in my heart.” It was a privilege to be able to introduce Caren to part of the global body of Christ.
Caren said, “With this experience I learned a lot of culture. It was special and totally new to me.”
