We are pleased to introduce Caren Rodriguez as our newest staff member for Project Hope. Caren has been a part of Project Hope’s ministry for many years, and is now taking on a leadership role in Colombia. We are happy to have her as part of the team! Each week Caren will be sharing updates from Colombia — introducing you to the staff and children we work with, and letting you know what God is doing through the ministry in Colombia.
Meet Our Staff:
Cata, Project Hope’s Colombia Coordinator
When we met Cata back in 2008, we knew that God had brought us together for a very special reason. Cata became an instant friend and a valuable resource in Colombia. Over the years she has volunteered countless hours for Project Hope and has always had a servant’s heart. This past year, we have been fortunate to have her on staff full time. Cata helps out with area children’s homes, teaches English and and assists with Drumming at our Community Center, and is a valuable resource to adoptive families during their time in Colombia. She makes a daily difference in the lives of many children and families, and we thank God for weaving our stories together. Below is Caren’s interview with Cata:
What do you like most about the ministry?
What I like most is being able to serve others. And every day I learn more about adoptions. There have been many people who have put their faith in the Lord.
Do you enjoy teaching English at the Community Center? What can you share about your experience teaching the class?
I love teaching English, and I loved the idea of teaching it at the Community Center. I think if you have a gift you must share with others. That way everyone learns and it helps to create a positive future for everyone. I love seeing that the kids are encouraged to learn more every day. They are very interested in learning more English.
How do you feel about helping others?
I feel great. It is very moving to see that the help you can give people makes a difference in their future.
Caren told us, “Every day I thank God for putting Cata among us. She has a big heart and is always willing to help.”
Thank you Cata for using your gifts and abilities to make a difference in the lives of so many!
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
