Camila is in 5th grade and has been attending church for the past 5 years with her family. She has been a part of Project Hope’s ministry for over 4 years, and has participated in making jewelry each year to raise funds for her school expenses. Camila, like other children in Colombia, has to pay for a school uniform and supplies each year. Without the uniform and supplies, she is not allowed to attend school. Many children are not able to attend school as a result, but thanks to many generous people who have purchased jewelry over the years Camila is attending school and doing well. She reports that her favorite subjects are math and English.
Camila also has a message for those that have come to Colombia over the years to help her learn to make the jewelry. She says, “They are all important to me and my family and I appreciate what they do for us.” To those that have purchased jewelry, she thanks you for helping her to have the opportunity to learn.
Camila also attends the Community Center classes for Drumming and English, and enjoys both. She says that she looks forward to the days that she is at the Center. When she learned of the new English class, she was excited and says now that the class has helped her to improve her English grade in school. She has also enjoyed learning about music.
We thank God for Camila and for the impact she has had on the staff at Project Hope. Her smile lights up the room, and we love her fun personality!
